About Me

I am Javex and my real name is Florian RĂ¼chel, a security engineer living and working in Australia. I studied IT-Security at Ruhr-University in Bochum, Germany. In my spare time I enjoy hacking on various side projects, running my homelab and clawing back some control from big tech companies.

When I make software, I have a strong focus on security and try to keep my software safe. Furthermore, I believe in Open Source software and Kerckhoff's Principle and as such, I try to keep my projects as open as possible and use approved algorithms and implementations whenever possible.

If you have interest in what I currently work on, you can check out my GitHub Repositories where most of my interesting (and not-so-interesing) software lives. If you want to contribute on any of the projects I am working on, please feel free to contact me via Mastodon.

I also used to be a member of the Ruhr-University Bochum CTF-Team FluxFingers, so I published some writeups here back in the day.
